Default Computer screen turns black

I have had Windows XP before and XBC worked fine but now I have got Windows ME and when I enter a room I can see the people who are in that room and their pings for like 3 seconds and then the computer kind of shuts down.It seems that it is still running because the computer doesnt reboot and it still makes the usuall sounds but the screen is black.I don't know what might be the problem. Please help me.I don't want to give up playing XBC.

That sounds like a computer problem more than an XBC probem to me...

Check your hibernation settings and such, turn them off, and try that...

Edit: If that doesn't work, you might want to just try downloading a fresh version of XBC.. heres some instructions on how to properly uninstall.

How to Uninstall XBC
  • All of this must be done after you have closed XBC. Please do not do this with XBC still up and running.

[list:0d3d4a9fa8]Go to your "My Computer" select the C drive and the go into the Program Files Folder. Select the XBConnect 4 folder. In this folder double click on Unwise.

This will launch our uninstall program. Click on custom uninstall.

Then click on "Select All" and then next. Do this for the screens that follow. Reboot your computer.

Then go back to www.xbconnect.com and download a fresh version of XBConnect.

You downgraded from XP to ME. Why? But as Ace_High said, sounds like a computer issue, make sure your have all the ME updates and all your drivers up to date as well.
